| ITIH3

Inter-α-trypsin inhibitor heavy chain H3 (ITIH3) is a 120-kDa glycoprotein component of the plasma inter-α-inhibitor (IαI) complex, primarily synthesized in the liver. It covalently binds to hyaluronan via a chondroitin sulfate bridge to bikunin, stabilizing extracellular matrices during inflammation. ITIH3 contains five von Willebrand factor A domains that mediate protein-protein interactions. When cleaved by inflammatory proteases, it releases bikunin, a serine protease inhibitor. Serum ITIH3 levels increase during acute-phase responses but decrease in chronic liver diseases. Genetic variations in ITIH3 are associated with preeclampsia and osteoarthritis. Its hyaluronan-binding function is crucial for cumulus oophorus expansion during ovulation and wound healing.

| Linearity

Samples were spiked with high concentrations of Human ITIH3 and diluted with Universal Diluent to produce samples with values within the range of the assay.
